Vertetrac - Testimonials

Here are some of hundreds of letters that we have received from doctors and patients using the Vertetrac:

My name is Nathaniel S. Wirt Ph.D., D.C.  I was a professor of Anatomy, Physiology, Neurology and Genetics for 14 years and have been a practicing Chiropractic for 27 years.  Since my early thirties I’ve had back problems, and even with chiropractic care the problems would occur intermittently.  I’ve always been an athlete and worked out regularly.  In 1997 I injured my back in an exercise accident.  I was inverted and attempting to do up-side-down sit ups.  I felt something pull and tear in my back, and came off the inversion machine with a little pain in my back but terrible spasms in my left thigh adductor muscles.  My left thigh diameter was reduced to half the diameter of my right thigh because of the severe spasms, and I could not stand up at all.  These symptoms are indicative of nerve root irritation in the Left Lumbar Spine, at vertebral levels of L2 through L4, the Lumbar Plexus.  I went into the hospi tal and received pain injections every five hours for nine days.  Tests were conducted and the diagnosis was herniated discs of L3 and L4, which was consistent with the symptoms.  I was told that I must have surgery; that I had no choice about it.  My doctor was an excellent sports/medicine orthopedic surgeon and well respected in the community, but in this case, he was not aware of better ways to deal with the problem, as I will explain in a moment.  Over a period of the next six weeks I received three Cortisone injections into the epidural spaces of the spine at the level of the herniations, and this decreased the pain to very manageable levels.  However, I still could not stand up.

While in the hospi tal , as I was considering the recommendation of the surgeon, a chiropractic doctor and friend, who had a good knowledge of my history, and an excellent knowledge of when surgery is necessary, told me about the Vertetrac and the good results he was having with his patients using it.  I truly had a dilemma.  On the one hand, a highly respected surgeon was saying surgery was imperative; on the other, a well respected and successful chiropractor was advising me to use the Vertetrac to heal the damaged segments in my spine.

I ordered a Vertetrac and began using it daily for a month.  The very first time I wore the Vertetrac, I noticed that I could stand up without pain.  This, in itself, was a very positive result, suggesting that the nerve irritation was greatly reduced and that structural integrity was being supported.  I began walking a half hour per day, every day for a month.  After one month I was healed.  I would not call this healing a miracle, but just sound anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy.  It has been 12 years since my accident and I have no back or thigh problems.  I wear the Vertetrac about once a month just to strengthen possible weaknesses in my spine.

I use the Vertetrac with my serious disc patients and achieve wonderful results.  I hope this testimonial will encourage chiropractors, chiropractic colleges, and orthopedic and neurological surgeons, to look into the healing potential of the Vertetrac for the sake of their patients.  Sometimes surgery is necessary but it should not be the first choice in dealing with back problems.  Using the Vertetrac is a wonderful way to promote healing and has no side effects.  In addition, if one adds to the Vertetrac treatment, the healing potential of chiropractic manipulation, you have a winning ticket for dealing with serious back problems.

I would like to express my gratitude to doctor Grober that saved me from an operation on spinal cord.

I arrived to the ER with disk hernia, in terrible pain and shortly after the first check was almost persuaded to undergo surgery. The doctors insisted that this is the only option because they the chances for recovery were negligible. I was hesitating since I heard about the possible complications of the surgery and also the high chances of a second episode. I was terrified and looking for any alternative.

Fortunately, I heard from a friend that there is an effective treatment that helped some patients with problems like mine to avoid surgery and recover from spine injuries.

When I first arrived to Dr. Grober's clinic two weeks after hospitalization, I was unable to walk straightly and needed help
to support my bodyweight. The pain was almost unbearable. At
the beginning of the treatment I was only capable of making several steps with the Dr. Grober's device, however after several
weeks I was able to walk with no support, move around and fully
take care of myself.

Today, a year after the hospitalization, my back is in much better condition and I am working, walking for long distances and able to perform any everyday task.

Needless to say, I'm very happy to avoid surgery and feel very grateful to Dr. Grober and Ran.

Sincerely, Oren Yehezkel   19.11.2008

"I am a 1990 graduate of CMCC, and have been in practice for 12 years now. I wanted to take the opportunity to write a short endorsement of your ambulatory traction unit, so that other practitioners could add it to their practices.
Thank-you for the Vertetrac unit. I have been using this tool in my practice with my disc and degenerative low back cases since 1996 with remarkable results.
There are many patients that have not gone forward to surgery because of this device, and it has helped in many cases where other forms of traction failed. It is easily adaptable to Chiropractic practice, and as a marketing tool there is nothing better than fixing someone who has been offered surgery by the neurosurgeons. It is an effective device that enables me to practice on conditions that were often referred out of my practice before.
We often follow a Vertetrac session with an adjustment, and then ultrasound. This combination has resulted in the best clinical yield for my practice, but I would welcome other protocols that other Doctors have developed.
Again I give your device my highest endorsement. It has change the way I practice, and improved the health of many of mdy patients."
Yours in Health,

"I want to thank you so much for the Vertetrac you sent me. It is such a miracle invention for Scoliosis sufferers, it is God-send, I walk better, have much less pain now and I can enjoy life a little more now... I feel my back (spine) is straighter and definitely has less pressure with the brace use."

"I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Dr. Ludwig M. Stabholz, developer of the Vertetrac system and all those associated with its manufacture and distribution, for bringing this innovative, state-of-the-art ambulatory traction system to the chiropractic profession.
Chiropractors for the past 100 years have always sought the most efficient, cost-effective treatment methodology for their patients. I have been practicing chiropractic for the past 12 years and have yet to see any treatment device perform as well as the Vertetrac does for severe low back and/or leg pain.
I currently use the Vertetrac for the treatment of disc lesions and posterior unit arthropathy. The most dramatic results are seen with patients presenting with antalgic lean and sciatic pain. The vast majority of these paitents become upright and pain free within minutes; but more importantly, the 30 minutes of high load traction allows stronger cellular healing of the lesion while the lumbar spine is properly aligned, thereby decreasing the incidence of reinjury. With the use of the Vertetrac, my patients are also able to return to work sooner with less restrictions. Thank you again from myself and my patients!"

Gregory J. Gingell, D.C., Michigan, USA

"I have been using the Meditrac brace for one year with alarming results. Cases ranging from 44 degree scoliosis to the most severe disc ruptures all resulting in dramatic symptomatic and physiological changes.
How did I do it? I combined the Vertetrac with specific isolated exercises, specific stretching, massage, trigger point ultrasound and forced manipulation. When they are all combined in one visit, then the results are shocking, Usually within six months or less.
If you are interested in treating the most severe cases with phenomenal results. Then do your research and purchase a Vertetrac brace today. "

"I have used the Vertetrac successfully over the past 10 years in the treatment of low back disorders. I have especially good results with Lumber disc bulges, protrusions, herniation and even fragments, confirmed on MRI.
It is my treatment of choice for most low back injuries and conditions, short of fracture or cancer.
In October of 2002, I was rear-ended by a linen delivery truck and suffered 3 disc level injuries, T7-8, L1-2 (disc spur complex) and L4-5. My pain was severe the first weeks after the injury. However, as soon as I could tolerate traction, I began putting myself in the Vertetrac daily. I was able to get out of pain during short treatment sessions and began the slow climb into recovery. I did almost daily treatments from November through April with the Vertetrac. This permitted me to maintain my practice and continue surfing for exercise. It is now almost 8 month post accident and I have times when I am pain free and days that I don’t need treatment. I apply the traction twice weekly now during my workweek. Recently, I spent 7 day surfing in Hawaii and was pain free most of the time.
I recommend the Vertetrac to all of my colleagues, and have found it to be a source of patient referrals to me, and most of all, it has permitted me to maintain my own work activity after a very bad auto accident. This is the most important piece of equipment in my practice… Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience helping patients with the Vertetrac. "

"I did have occasion to use the Vertetrac and was pleased with the results. I had a flare up, fairly severe, of my back condition, what I consider a nuclear leakage, a sudden event, after which I tend to hurt badly for 8 -14 days. Five days into this event, the Vertetrac arrived. I immediately started wearing it twice a day for up to 30 mins each time, walking up hills. Within 18 hrs, my episode was virtually over. I was very pleased with how rapidly this pulled me out of my flare up. I have tried many other therapies while in a flare up like this, including other forms of traction, topical and oral anti-inflammatories, microcurrent, and chiropractic low force adjustments.
The Vertetrac was clearly the most rapid and efficient way to pull me out of a flare up that I have discovered. The Vertetrac had an interesting and positive side benefit which I wonder if you are aware of. It markedly improved my gait. My leg was able to internally rotate, as if all of this fascial binding had instantly been freed up. This effect was magnified by the improvement in my upright sitting and standing posture, which were also improved by wearing the unit. This effect lasted at least several hours after wearing the unit, and was quite dramatic.
The combination of the traction, the way the unit stabilizes the pelvis, and extension motion one creates with the knob in back, and the ability to ambulate in the unit are a wonderful combination.

I'm sold on it! Thank you so much. I would like to incorporate my experience with this in one of my future articles in Dynamic Chiropractic."

"I am writing to describe my personal experience with your Vertetrac product. I began to experience acute sciatica and nearly-paralyzing low-back spasms around 1985. Since that time I have worked or consulted with 9 chiropractors, 4 orthopedic doctors, and 3 orthopedic surgeons. Throughout I was determined to learn to manage the weakness and to avoid surgery. In an ongoing effort to take the pressure off my herniated L5 disk, I have tried traction tables, tilt (gravity) tables, aggressive physical therapy, manual traction, leg-pulling, hip blocking, and Cox tables. None of these made any significant difference beyond a few hours of temporary relief. Around 1995, Dr. Weinstein recommended that I try the Vertetrac device in conjunction with rehabilitation exercises on machines that strengthen and balance the musculature of the torso. The Vertetrac device seemed counterintuitive to me because it appeared to me (an engineer) that more weight was being applied than was being released. So it was with genuine astonishment when I found that the device produced profound and extended relief after just one 15-minute session. After half a dozen Vertetrac sessions, accompanied by the rehab program, I was virtually pain free and my back was quite stable. On the few occasions since that time when I’ve re-injured the area, the same protocol gives me relief and facilitates rapid healing -- within two weeks rather than four to six months with the older treatments. I have been surprised at how few chiropractors are aware of your product. A lot of people could avoid back surgery with this device -- because they can find relief under their own power within two weeks and do not have to pin their hopes on the surgeon."

Dr. Peter Dennings. D. - Virginia, USA

"I have been using the Vertetrac for self-treatment for approximately two years. I began using the apparatus after laser surgery in my back, and also use it as a prophylactic. The Vertetrac has in the past and still does help me continue to live a normal, healthy life, despite the severe back problems which I suffered. Because of these back problems I was unable to work and ultimately turned to laser surgery. I would like to thank Meditrac, Ltd., not only for making this unique product available, but also for their continued service."

C.H. Kim, The Netherlands

"Thank you for the opportunity to assess and use the Vertetrac ambulatory lumbar traction device. I used the Vertetrac in our physiotherapy practice over the last three months. I also took the opportunity in taking it to the Olympic Games for use in the Australian Olympic Team's medical clinic in Atlanta, Georgia.

I found the Vertetrac to be extremely helpful in the treatment of low back pain. The patients I found it most helpful with were people who presented with mild to moderate nerve root signs, especially signs of numbness, paraesthesia and distal pain in the lower leg. I found it helpful for people with moderate sciatic scoliosis."

Ross B. Smith, Physiotherapist, Victoria, Australia

"We have used the Vertetrac in our Sports Medicine practice now for over two months. It has been used on many patients with acute lower back pain. Nearly all the patients have found that it has benefited them in reducing their acute symptoms.
Certainly when comparing it with the normal traction beds it is of great value when using it with a team whilst traveling."

Dr. Nathan Gibbs, MB BS, New South Wales, Australia
